Bring in your garment
The warmth of our fitting stylists puts you at ease during your first fitting appointment. They are great at listening to what you want, and also at offering advice if you are unsure why your garment does not look quite right.
For a thorough assessment, we run through these steps in your first fitting:
- How you want to look and what you wear the garment for (sitting at a work desk, attending an event, etc.)
- Address any problems you’re having (like tripping on a hem or tugging up pants)
- Look closely at the seams and fabric to make an alterations plan
- Measure you up and start pinching and pinning (this gives you a glimpse of how it will look)
- Make sure you can still move comfortably once the garment has been pinned
Leave it with us
Your fitting stylist briefs the tailor about what needs to happen, so everything you discussed is passed on in detail. Our goal is to complete the alteration so the finished garment looks like it was originally made that way.
The tailor begins by unpicking the garment and assessing the fabric integrity to ensure we achieve a clean seam without any pulling or wrinkles. Because we are perfectionists, we obsess over little details like not distorting any stripe or check patterns, matching thread colours and preserving the overall shape of the garment.
When the alteration is done, your fitting stylist does a final check of the garment against your measurements and check the seams are tidy and clean. Then you receive an email that your clothes are ready to try on.
Try on your altered garments
When you come to collect your garments, we do a fitting to ensure they fit like a glove.
Your fitting stylist makes sure each seam is sitting as it is supposed to. We also ask you to stand and move around in the garment to check it falls correctly on the body and complements your shape.
In most cases you can take your clothes straight home. But if there are further adjustments or your garment requires more than one fitting, we make notes for the next stage of alterations. Just as before, we email you as soon as the work is complete.
Final fitting and collection
At your final fitting, we run through all the same checks as we did in your previous fitting, and make sure you are happy with the new changes.
In this fitting we can also offer any final tips you need on cleaning, storing and caring for your garments. It’s important that your clothes last for as long as possible.
You can return within 30 days of collection if something isn’t quite right and we will happily address any issues.
