Wedding Dress Alterations Terms and Conditions
The Service
The Fitting Room on Edward performs high level and complex alterations for all of its clientele. Established over 23 years ago, we are the largest clothing alterations and styling service in Queensland, with 4 fitting staff and 10 skilled tailors. We are the highest rated bridal alterations specialist in Australia, and help over 100 brides each year. With the sharp eye of our tailors, we will help you create your dream wedding look.
The appointment
Our appointments are $100 payable upon booking your initial wedding consultation. Which will be deducted from your total alterations bill once you decide to go ahead with the job. Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes before your appointment. As our bridal services are in high demand, and we only offer a limited number of appointments per week. If you cancel your appointment within 48 hours of the allotted time, you will forfeit your deposit. If you arrive late for your appointment, our bridal fitter may be unable to finish the fitting in this shorter time frame and you may have to make another booking at an extra cost. Please keep your bridal entourage to a maximum of 2 people (excluding including yourself). To ensure your dress and our workroom is kept clean, food, external drinks, and nappy change is not allowed in the bridal lounge.
The Fit
Please make sure you bring everything you plan on wearing on the day including shoes, and any specific undergarments. Otherwise we can’t guarantee a perfect fit, or we may have to organise another appointment at your cost. Our bridal fitter will ask you a number of questions regarding the adjustments that you may require/want. Please let your fitter know about any specific changes that you need to make before the alterations are started.
If you are planning on changing your weight, we recommend making your fitting appointment 4-6 weeks before the wedding or when you are close to your ideal weight, or you may be charged for extra alterations work. If there are unforeseen circumstances that may affect your weight (pregnancy) please let us know ASAP so that we can work out a timeline together to have the dress fitted.
The Decision
Once your appointment has been completed, our bridal fitter will go through the work, and make sure you agree with all alterations and timeframes required. Our bridal alteration service averages at $800 and can take between 6-8 weeks to complete. A minimum of 50% of the total alterations cost is due at this time. We will arrange a follow up appointment/s to try on your completed alterations. If you decide not to go ahead, or cancel the job after the appointment, your initial $100 appointment deposit will be forfeited.
